Privacy Policy

The SmartPlay Build Engine ("the Build Engine") is run by SmartPlay AI, LLC, a veteran-owned company registered in California ("we", "us"). It guides you through planning your first app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive files or contacts for sign-in.
- Your project. The answers you give in the Five Knows steps, the rules you write, and the look image you upload, if you choose to.
- Progress. Which steps you have completed and when you were last active.
- Basic technical data. Sign-in session cookies and standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) that our hosting providers keep to run and secure the service.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your projects saved.
- To build your outline, prompts and other files from your answers.
- To show instructors your progress (which steps you have passed), never the content of your project.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers below. The Build Engine does not currently send your answers to an AI model; if that changes, we will update this policy before it does.
Google user data
The Build Engine's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use the name, email and profile picture Google shares only to create and identify your account.
Where it is stored and who can see it
Your data is stored with Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage) and the site is hosted on Vercel, both in the United States. Each person's projects are walled off at the database level: other students cannot see them, and instructors see progress only.
Your choices
- You can sign out at any time.
- You can ask us to export or delete your account and everything in it by emailing tim@smartplayapps.com. We act on deletion requests within 30 days.
- If you signed in with Google, you can also remove the Build Engine's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Retention
We keep your account and projects until you delete them or ask us to.
Children
The Build Engine is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
